Maximum loading weights are subject to federal and individual state
highway laws, and will vary according to the specifications of the
tractor used to haul the shipment and the loading pattern of the freight.
Chassis used to transport the containers over-the-road have the
following range of tare weights:
53' - 8,600 lbs 48' - 8,700 lbs/7,200 lbs 45' - 8,700 lbs/6,000 lbs
40' - 8,700 lbs/6,000 lbs 20' - 6,750 lbs/5,950 lbs
Certain types or sizes of equipment may be restricted for usage to
selected traffic lanes. Consult your NPL representative for
specific availabilities.
